NBL – Bet on Australian Basketball
The NBL is now on up to 5 nights a week and the prime time slot offers real excitement for basketball betting enthusiasts. The increase in exposure has seen a significant increase in attendance with Melbourne United, the Adelaide 36ers and the Illawarra Hawks. The most successful team in recent years though has been the New Zealand Breakers who have won 4 NBL Championships dating back to 2011.
Unlike the NBA playoff the NBL Finals series are held over a single week with the top 4 facing off in best of 3 series. This makes 1st place in the regular season all the more important with home advantage on the line for the NBL Grand Final. As always there will be head to head, handicap and total betting odds for all matches along with Grand Final winner betting throughout the season.
There was a stage when the NBL was littered with NBA level talent and those days are finally returning. The Sydney Kings turned things around when they signed former NBA star Josh Childress who was the 6th overall pick back in 2004. Let's not forget Nathan Jawai aka 'Outback Shaq' and Kirk Penny who have also starred in recent seasons.
It also goes the other way and the NBL has proved more than a worthy breeding ground for talent. We have seen several players make the move to the NBA including Joe Ingles and Patrick Mills who has won a NBA Championship winner with the San Antonio Spurs.
